All:

On behalf of the Advocacy Group, just wanted to follow-up on an ongoing topic for our Coalition – about transportation and the people we serve.

·       Advocacy Committee had a great conversation with Pierce Transit (PT) on December 4.

o   Conversation included:

§  Listening by PT about our stories how transportation can be a barrier to people experiencing homelessness, and to those trying to sustain regular employment.

§  ORCA Lift program

§  Discounted bus passes

§  Routes and PT plans for future system

§  Overall it was an informative exchange of ideas, what-if’s, future plans/objectives by PT, etc.

o   PT is looking to visit the Coalition sometime next year for more presentation and Q&A with us.

o   ANNOUNCEMENT: NEW ADULT MONTHLY PASS:

§  $62 per “month” (i.e., 30 consecutive day pass from date of activation, even if days cross between months)

·       Another option to the existing discounted passes for seniors, youth, and disabled

§  Unlimited rides

§  Access for Pierce Transit buses/system only

§  Effective for use starting January 1, 2019 (but can be purchased now)

§  For more information, go to PT fares website:  https://www.piercetransit.org/PT-fares/

·       At middle of page, just below graphic see announcement (as pictured below) to download new informational brochure:

Thanks, all.
