DSHS Diversion is different than Coordinated Entry Diversion with different funding structure and eligibility. DSHS Diversion is (if I remember correctly) meant to divert individuals from going on TANF.

The Diversion funds available through CE are to help folks experiencing homelessness move into housing and has nothing to do with state-issued benefits.

Eligibility reqs vary between the different programs, as funding is entirely different.

Subject: Homeless Coalition - diversion

So there has been much confusion here at PATH as to what is needed for diversion. I have sent someone to DSHS and they were told they cannot qualify because they are not on TANF. Then I sent them to associated ministries and they were told they have to do a coordinated entry assessment first, but they have with me. So, my question is…what do I do now?

Thank you!
