Good morning, as of right now we’ll continue to process SNAP and TANF. If the shutdown continue clients will continue to receive TANF/ ABD  as they are state funded programs. We were also inform that they more likely sufficient funds to issue March food benefits.

I was today at the DSHS office with one of my clients and the way the explained to us was that for food benefits for the month of February they all will get them on January 20th, with this said clients will have to make sure they make their food benefits last for the whole month. They said they did it this way because they want to make sure everyone gets their benefits. They also said that they don’t know anything about April yet but they will let clients know once they have an answer.

There has been a statement issues saying that food benefits for Feb will be issued on January 20th, and any shutdown beyond Feb will result in no food benefits.

There’s been a lot of conflicting information regarding SNAP and TANF benefits.

Could we please have someone from DSHS respond directly here?
