Colleagues,

At the last Coalition meeting, folks brought several bills to our attention.  I thought it might be helpful to have a list of bills that might benefit our clients.  As far as I know, no one has a single comprehensive list but the attachments below may help you follow bills of interest currently in the Washington State Legislature.  Note: "RLTA" is the Residential Landlord Tenant Act - the current WA State Law.

1.  From the League of Women Voters Legislative Newsletter - the Housing & Homelessness Update prepared by Cynthia Stewart.  You can get the entire weekly newsletter in your in-box weekly.  I just copied out the Housing & Homelessness section.  Folks - this is a great resource.

2.  From the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance description of their PRO tenant bills.  I copied this from an email from Michele Thomas, Director of Policy and Advocacy

3.  From the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance - chart prepared by the Legislative Staff comparing House and Senate Tenant bills.

4.  In addition, HB1591, concerning the Rights of Persons Experiencing Homeless, is in its early stages and has not yet been scheduled for a hearing.
There is also a package of Tiny House bills and another of Homeownership bills.  Seth Dawson keeps an updated list of Behavioral Health bills.
Please let me know if you want contact information on any of these.

Remember - the Legislative Hot-line is 1-800-562-6000 and follow the prompts or go to www.leg.wa.gov, click on Bill Information on the left menu and follow the Bill Tracking prompts.
