FYI – for the group!

The Health Care Authority’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) is offering one-time mini-grants from funds allocated from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Federal Mental Health and Substance Abuse Block Grants with the goal of promoting Trauma Informed Approaches (TIA) in the State of Washington. We are inviting partners who support or serve individuals experiencing the behavioral health continuum to apply for these one-time mini-grants to promote their adoption of TIA in their service delivery and/or community.

We anticipate awarding to up to $50,000 to successful applicants, and plan about to release approximately 30 awards, with the requirement that the work be completed before September 30, 2019.

Requirements for successful applicants:

  • Licensed to do business in the State of Washington and able to contract with the HCA
  • Applicants must provide or partner with an organization that provides behavioral health services meaning Substance Use Prevention, Early Intervention, Treatment and Recovery Supports as well as Mental Health serious mental and emotional treatment and supports.
  • .
  •  Must have a current work plan or develop a new work plan to implement TIA either with a community partner or show significant commitment to TIA that will continue the work after the funds are completed.

We plan to release a request for applications (RFA) in the second week of March and responses will be due the end of March, to be awarded mid-April.  If you have questions on the timeline, please contact us at traumainformed@hca.wa.gov.
