Hi everyone,
HB 1440/Robinson would require 60 day notices of all rent increases and would prohibit rent increases taking place during a lease term. There is an exception if the rent is based on the tenants income in which case the landlord must provide 30 days notice.
The bill passed the House with bipartisan support, was heard in the Senate Financial Institutions Committee, but hasn't yet been scheduled for a vote. It must be voted out by April 3rd. Please consider adding your organization's name to a sign on letter urging the bill to be moved out of committee.
