I don't normally send local articles out to the full list but these are two I think are worth a good look.

From page one of today's News Tribune:

1.  Plan to switch apartment project to market rate fails - this is the project next to the City of Tacoma downtown library.  If you ever doubted the power of one vote on the City Council, you won't after reading this article.  The article also gives a good view of how complicated housing development can be.  

2.  What's Pierce County's share of (State) Capital Budget?  This is a detailed listing of all the projects in Pierce County including within the City of Tacoma funded by the just passed State Capital Budget.  Some of these are projects that will help people experiencing homelessness or who are simply extremely vulnerable in our communities.
