Welcome to forward out to colleagues or anyone who might benefit.

Bonnie Corns from Tacoma Pierce County Health Department's Potentially Preventable Hospitalization would like to invite you to join us for this free training on Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).  SBIRT is an evidence based approach to detecting substance use (alcohol, opioids, nicotine, etc) and mental health conditions (depression & anxiety) earlier.  Motivational Interviewing is a culturally responsive way of helping patients and clients tap into their internal motivations and strengths to make a healthy change, in a way that is client-centered and non-judgmental.  Those in clinical health, community health, social services, home care, educational, or behavioral health fields who serve adults and families are welcome to attend either of these full-day training sessions.  Lunch will be served.  Please contact project manager Bonnie Corns (BCorns@tpchd.org) or certified instructor Suzanne Pak (SPak@kwacares.org) with any questions.
