I have a female Veteran that stated she gave a person $1500 for move -in cost/ deposit etc. Client stated that she resided in the home for five days or less and was kicked out. Client is currently in a shelter. I would like to know what steps can we take to get her deposit back. This landlord is the owner of the home if I understood correctly. Is this a civil matter that need to be filed in court or do we have a way to deal with this without having to go that route?
