Colleagues,
The new Tenant Protections go into effect July 28, 2019.  They will cover ALL tenants across the State.  The eviction process has significant changes and opportunities to keep people from becoming homeless.

Here are two resources for you to learn more about these changes to the Washington State Residential Landlord Tenant Act.

1.  The Washington Low Income Housing Alliance May 22 webinar "Deep Dive into Eviction Reform SB5600"  is under Resources at www.wliha.org or click below:

2.  Tacomaprobono is presenting a program on Friday, July 26.  Their flyer is attached - learn all about it cle.pdf.  Anyone can attend but you need to register by email:  ashleyd@tacomaprobono.org

In addition, Laurie Davenport, Program Director, says that Tacomaprobono would present to the Coalition whenever it is best to schedule.

3.  Tacoma's Rental Housing Code is being updated to reflect the new state laws.  We might want to ask ChiQuata Elder to present the updated code to the Coalition.

Take care all,
Maureen
