Job Summary:

The General Manager will Maintains control of AMVETS Post 1 on a daily basis by Directing and coordinating AMVETS Post #1 employees either by performing (His/Her) duties personally or through subordinate supervisors, resulting in (Operations management) optimum efficiency from our employees.

 

Job Qualifications:

•             Veteran status required for this position. (Veterans serving Veterans)

•             NO Misdemeanor offense (in the past 2 years), No felonies, No history of fraud, theft or embezzlement.

•             Three years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or experience in managing or supervising food service, bartenders, parking lot attendants, recreational and janitor staff or equivalent.

•             Have a good working knowledge of basic computer software, to include but not limited to Word, E-mail & Excel Spread Sheets.

•             Must be eligible to obtain and maintain valid Washington State Drivers , Liquor and Gambling licenses along with any other State, County, City of Tacoma permits or licenses as required by law (I.E. Pierce County Food handlers Certificate).

•             Ability to analyze corporate budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and identifies and allocates operating budget monies as necessary.

•             Ability to develop “Request for Proposals

 

Job Duties:

Plans, develops and implements organizations policies and goals for Corporation and its employees, to include but not limited too;

•             Coordinates activities of departments such as lounge, bingo, planning, maintenance, office management, and accounting to affect operation efficiency and economy.

•             Conducts the hiring and dismissal of personnel and informs the Board of Trustees in accordance with post operating procedures.

•             Maintains employee’s records and insures all employees are trained and have all the proper licenses and certificates to perform their duties.

•             Maintains community relations with the police, fire department, liquor board, gambling commission and other city, county, and state offices, being especially alert to the many new regulatory agencies.

•             The General  Manager  will be responsible to the Board of Trustees and will coordinate any proposed changes or deviations with the Board as necessary for the successful day to day operations of the Corporation.

 

Job Supervisory Role:

Responsible for managing all paid employees including;

•             Overall hiring, direct supervision, coordination, training and evaluation, resolving conflicts and issues, rewarding and /or conducting disciplinary actions on all paid employees.

•             Provide coverage for employees when needed.

•             Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, applicable laws/regulations and AMVET Post 1 Constitution and By-laws.

 

Salary:

•             Negotiable/Dependent on Experience (DOE)

 

Hours: (Full-Time)

•             Monday thru Thursday:                9AM - 11:45AM and 1PM - 3:45PM

•             Friday:                                                 9AM - 11:45AM CLOSED IN AFTERNOON

•             Saturday/Sunday                            Closed

•             Closed for lunch daily                    12PM - 1PM
