Hello Everyone,

My name is Jeremy Walker and I'll be coordinating the Coalition's General Election Candidate Forums this year. Below are updates on Candidate Forum Calendars, Questions for Candidates, and Coalition Candidate Forums. If you are interested in being a part of the committee please email me at jrm.walker@gmail.com. We really want your input and participation!

Candidate Forum Calendars
This week is the League of Women Voter's big series of Candidate Forums across Pierce county! Check it out here: http://www.tacomapiercelwv.org/calendar.html. It was decided at last meeting that we should be attending other candidate forums to ask questions about housing and homelessness. We are working on building a one pager and questions. However, it will not be ready in time for the League of Women Voters Primary series. We still encourage people to go.

I have created a sharable calendar of all candidate forums (that have not already occurred). If you know of one that is not listed, please email me the details.  https://calendar.google.com/calendar?cid=dDVqZW9uZjZjM2NiYWxvcG1yZXYwYjRmcmdAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ

Questions for Candidates
If you have questions for candidates or would like to be on the Coalition Candidate Forum Committee please email me, Jeremy Walker at jrm.walker@gmail.com. We will be working to create a simple one-pager on housing and homelessness along with some relevant questions to ask candidates depending on their race for city council, parks, mayor or fire chief.

Coalition Candidate Forums Update
We decided to pursue 3 Candidate Forums Puyallup, Tacoma-Lakewood, and  University Place-Fircrest. We are also pursuing a 4th candidate forum in Gig Harbor because it has the most number of General Election competitive races at the local level.

October 4th - Tacoma-Lakewood Candidate Table Forum 9 am to 11 am during the regular Coalition Meeting Hours at the Salvation Army.

October 11th -  Fircrest-University Place Candidate Forum 9 am to 11 am during the regular Coalition Meeting Hours at the Salvation Army.

TBD - Puyallup the committee is coordinating with the Puyallup Coalition to End Homelessness to determine dates and locations at the moment.

TBD - Gig Harbor the committee is coordinating with the Key Peninsula/Gig Harbor Coalition to End Homelessness to determine the dates and locations at the moment

Thank you,
