Colleagues,
This is very late notice but even though you may not be able to join this morning's webinar, I wanted you to know what is happening with housing advocacy and to be sure you have this information:  Here's the website www.ourhomes-ourvotes.org  where you can read the toolkit for advocates and organizations.

Thank you for your work,
Maureen

Our Homes, Our Votes: 2020

Get Involved in 2020 Nonpartisan Voter and Candidate Engagement!
Join Today’s 1:00 pm ET Webinar!

Advocates throughout the country are elevating the issues of affordable housing and homelessness in national and local elections! Candidates for mayor are participating in town hall meetings on how they will address the housing crisis in their cities, and candidates for state offices and the U.S. Congress are announcing their proposals to increase housing affordability. Now, we are bringing this conversation to the highest levels of politics – on the 2020 presidential campaign trail like never before! There are already ten candidates for U.S. president who have announced affordable housing plans or proposals, and more are coming soon!

NLIHC’s Our Homes, Our Votes 2020 nonpartisan voter and candidate engagement effort is all about amplifying the issue of housing affordability and homelessness in the 2020 campaigns, getting candidates to propose solutions, and getting more low-income renters involved in voting.

To learn more about NLIHC’s new efforts, tools, and resources for you to get involved in Our Homes, Our Votes 2020

Webinar attendees will hear about presidential primary efforts from two of NLIHC’s Our Homes, Our Votes 2020 state partners - Elissa Margolin from Housing Action NH and Lauren Johnson from Polk County Housing Trust Fund (IA), who will talk about how they are engaging presidential candidates in New Hampshire and Iowa, respectively.

Beyond the presidential primaries, attendees will also get a glimpse at some of NLIHC’s new tools and materials for non-profit organizations eager to engage in voter registration, education, and mobilization. If you haven’t checked them out yet, be sure to visit the new www.ourhomes-ourvotes.org website and read the toolkit for advocates and organizations.

There will be plenty of time to ask questions of the presenters. Please RSVP right away to join today's discussion!
