Greetings, all --

I am working with a client who needs housing by herself.  She has trauma history and has been homeless in the past, although she is currently temporarily housed in a boarding house room.  She is 75 years old and disabled with COPD, asthma and diabetes.  She also has mobility issues and walks with a walker.

She does not want assisted living and has not been doing well in an environment where she has to share a kitchen and bath.  She wants to manage her own money (SSI and food stamps).  She has a COPES worker who sees her three days a week to help with personal care such as laundry and grocery shopping.

Geographically, she would prefer Puyallup, Sumner or Lakewood, but she's open to anywhere.  Safety is a top concern.

Any help finding a safe studio would be very welcome.  She will have supportive housing services to help her be a great tenant and give the landlord another number to call if anything goes wrong.

We have applied to PCHA and will apply to Rialto/Pioneer.  We will apply to THA when it opens up for applications IN OCTOBER(!).

Thank you for any help!

Heidi Nagel
