Position Summary:  The Financial Coach reports to the Manager of Financial Education and Initiatives and will play a key role on GORR’s Workforce Development team for the Economic Security for All initiative (EsCA) in Eastside Tacoma. The team also includes a Program Coordinator, Career Readiness Education & Development (CRED) instructor as well as partners and volunteers through all aspects of the work. The position require Financial coaching as well as Instruction of Financial Education courses and classes designed to provide participants of all ages with invaluable skills essential to building financial stability and self-sufficiency in a creative and engaging style designed to fit the community.  Financial Coaching assist participants over time understand banking basics, budgeting, debt management, investing, critical thinking skills, reading and understanding credit reports/scores, how to access community programs and resources such as free tax preparation. The EsCA team will also work together to develop and implement career plans for all EcSA participants that identify how they will reach earnings above 200% FPL. Career plans should access leveraged resources and services from all local partners as needed. The intention is to bring the resources of multiple programs together to support EcSA participants in a user-friendly and streamlined manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Provide one on one financial coaching and track ongoing financial progress of participants.

•Assist clients with identifying and applying income supports as well as financially preparing families about to go over benefit cliffs.

•Enter client information into case management systems including Salesforce and CaseWorthy.

•Instruct financial education course offsite with Eastside community partners.

•Strategize creative ways to provide varying financial education classes, course and events to engage trust and reach more community members.

•Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for financial education offerings.

•Assist with participant career plans leveraging resources and services from all local partners.

•Assist with marketing VITA and community outreach efforts.

•Attend all staff meetings and necessary professional development trainings.

•Performs other duties as assigned by management necessary to accomplish program goals.

•Spanish Fluent applicants preferred but not required.

Wage:$18.00-$21.00 per hour
