A recent funding opportunity has presented itself for a transportation project to reduce no-show rates for appointments and reduce 911-EMS call volumes. More details are below. If an agency would like to be involved in the 2020 Right Transportation project, please email Laura Morris at lmorris@ci.tacoma.wa.us by December 20^th.

The Right Transportation Project

Include a van transportation route to include stops at high-frequented areas of vulnerable populations such as MLK Way between Tacoma General and St Joes, The Nativity House, etc.
The van will operate during high-frequency 911 EMS call volume hours.
Interested agencies should anticipate the potential for increased volume of patients/individuals using their services.
At the last meeting, the committee Chairs asked agencies for a potential $5,000.00 contribution to fund a van driver position and van maintenance costs. The anticipated cost of the project is $80,000.00.
The funder is willing to invest in the total cost of the project.
