Hello Pierce County Team!

Valeo Vocation has a partnership with City of Tacoma to offer employment services to Stability Site residents. We have used this opportunity to build a model that will allow folks experiencing homelessness and with significant barriers to employment reintegrate back into the workforce. 

We have created a 3-phase approach that we call TEP (Transitional Employment Pathway). We have been operating Phase 2 and Phase 3 for the last year, and have just launched Phase 1. Phase 1 is the lowest-barrier access point to TEP and we have created a program that we have titled HIRE Crew (Helping Individuals Reintegrate into Employment). When we envisioned HIRE Crew, we were mindful in knowing that the folks we bring in to this phase may not be prepared to work in skilled or consistent employment. The goal is to offer general labor work opportunities and address their barriers simultaneously, hoping to transition them into the other 2 phases. 

We plan to use HIRE Crew to bridge the gap between local businesses and the population we serve. We plan to market HIRE Crew to local businesses, in which local businesses can "hire" our crew to perform services for them. We believe this will have a positive impact on the perception of homelessness that local businesses may have, while creating employment opportunities for our participants. We plan to have very general labor services: custodial work, garbage pickup, needle removal, light landscaping, etc. 

This is a very new program and we are not fully prepared to bring our services to the business community, yet. So! We have a few ASKS for you folks, our colleagues. As we are launching HIRE Crew, would your organization have a need for services that we can test our crew out on while building our program? Also, we are in need of the following donations to prepare (we are postponing any large purchases until we can first ask for donated items):
Please note, Valeo will have a supervisor on site, at all times. Crews will be 2-4 people in size.
