Colleagues,
This is the Legislative Roundup from our friends at the Housing Development Consortium (Seattle/King County):  Just click on the links to take action.

Legislative Round-up:

  • SB 6232 is scheduled for a public hearing in the Senate Ways & Means Committee at 3:30 pm Jan. 29. Show up to testify in support of a property tax exemption for nonprofits providing rental housing/mobile home spaces to qualifying households.  You can "show up" by clicking the link and commenting on-line.

  • Sign on to a letter calling for lawmakers to pass HB 2453 and SB 6379 out of committee. Both individuals and organizations are encouraged to sign on. To take additional action, send an email to your lawmaker

  • SB 6386 by Senator Zeiger would allow local governments to provide up to a full waiver from impact fees for qualifying low-income housing projects without any requirement to pay the exempted portion of the fee from other public funds.

  • Under HB 2780 and SB 6536 (or the Missing Middle Housing Bills), would lift local bans on small-scale, multiple-dwelling homes known as middle housing. Check out Sightline’s write up on the bill.

Thank you for your work,
Maureen
