COVID-19 guidance changes regularly, so we regularly update our page with new information. We also have specific information for human services (big updates to this page coming soon).

Please continue to check our COVID-19 website rather than refer to this email in case the guidance changes. Just wanted to get this news out ASAP, before it was even up yet. Website will reflect these changes soon.

Changing Guidance for Medical Referrals.

If a client has mild symptoms:

• They should be tested for COVID-19 if they have any conditions that may increase their risk for a serious viral infection: Age 60 years or over, are pregnant, or have medical conditions.

o If they have these conditions, help them call CHC Urgent Care in Hilltop. Do not refer to SeaMar Healthcare for the Homeless for testing at this time. You can also help them get virtual care using a phone or computer. See the FAQ at the bottom of our webpage.

o Ask if the patient needs to be evaluated in person. They may want monitor the patient more closely or test for influenza.

• If the patient doesn't have a high-risk condition and their symptoms are mild, they don't need to be evaluated in person and don't need a COVID-19 test.

o There are currently no medications to treat COVID-19.

Will update you all as I learn more. We also have a handout in the works you will be able to use with your clients. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done.  The advisory group will provide feedback on version 1 and then we’ll put together the new and improved version 2.
