Colleagues,
I am attempting to forward resources that may be of help and that you may not all be aware of.  Sheila Mirafloor is compiling a Homeless Provider Survival List and many of my links will be included.  In most cases, I am sending FREE resources and resources for which you can sign up yourselves.

Here is this morning's list of federal and national organization resources:

1.  HUD
HUD is continually updating its COVID-19 information.  You do not need to be a HUD program to find their information useful.  They are posting CDC and other guidance.  If you sign up for the HUD Exchange, you'll receive information.  Some communications they push out and others require you to continually check their websites.  Here's one from this morning:

SNAPS is not food stamps - it is HUD's Special Needs Assistance Programs

For a very brief overview of HUD's actions across the Department of Housing and Urban Development, listen to the beginning of the National Low Income Housing Coalition's Disaster Housing Recovery Coalition webinar from 3/23/  Here's the link - Brian Montgomery, Acting Deputy Secretary and other responsibilities.  Those of you with Permanent Supportive Housing will want to hear this.
2.  National Community Reinvestment Coalition - If you don't know NCRC, here's their info:  Note:  I was on their board for several years.  Another story for post-COIV-19 days.

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition and its grassroots member organizations create opportunities for people to build wealth. We work with community leaders, policymakers and financial institutions to champion fairness and end discrimination in lending, housing and business.

NCRC was formed in 1990 by national, regional and local organizations to increase the flow of private capital into traditionally underserved communities. NCRC has grown into an association of more than 600 community-based organizations that promote access to basic banking services, affordable housing, entrepreneurship, job creation and vibrant communities for America’s working families.

Our members include community reinvestment organizations; community development corporations; local and state government agencies; faith-based institutions; community organizing and civil rights groups; minority and women-owned business associations, as well as local and social service providers from across the nation.

3.  The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau:  Elizabeth Warrant set this up - remember?  Here's their information:
The CFPB is committed to providing you with up-to-date information and resources to protect and manage your finances during this difficult time.

We have updated our site with new resources on:

  • Credit reporting – Your credit reports and scores play an important role in your future financial opportunities. Learn how to manage and protect your credit during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Debt collection – Dealing with debt can be a stressful experience, coupling that with the coronavirus pandemic may make it even harder to address.
  • Financial caregiving – We have resources for financial caregivers helping people who cannot manage their money or property themselves during the coronavirus pandemic.

More resources will be posted as the situation continues to change and evolve. We encourage you to share these resources with your friends, families, and others in your networks.
