Good morning,
I think several people are working on this.  I'll update with what I know after two meetings today.

One suggestion is to use existing SSI payee organizations and have them set up an account for receipt of inividual funds and then disburse the money via debit cards which could be set for any amount and reloaded as required until the person's money is gone.

In the meantime, I encourage everyone to be sure people who did file 2018 or 2019 federal taxes or who receive Social Security Retirement, SSDI or Railroad Retirement to be sure their bank account information is still correct or if they receive paper checks, their address is still correct.  These payments will follow the information the IRS has on file.

Domestic violence survivors who have changed bank accounts or addresses since their last contact with the IRS may need to update the information the IRS has on file.

The IRS has a non- filer portal on their site but we are still hopeful the IRS might disburse directly to SSI recipients and provide a debit card or use a State benefit system to get the money to other eligible recipients.

Take care,
Maureen

Good morning all,
Not sure if missed previously provided information, but does anyone know about express cards or any way folks can get their refunds transferred to a card that don't have checking accounts?
