Hello Community!
I have gotten an overwhelming response from this email, and most inquiries were about how to refer participants to this training program!
Valeo is sponsoring this program mostly on our own, with some help from a grant. That being said, we are not fully funded for the training and hope we will be in the future. The first cohort is full, and if we get funded, we will offer a second cohort
and will open it up to participants in the community. If we receive funding, we can stagger cohorts so we are able to begin before the first 12-weeks is over. I will keep you informed! Thank you so much for the inquiries.
Hello Community-
Valeo has created a 12-week, paid custodial training program, meant to prepare participants with skills needed to transition permanently into the custodial market.
The 12-weeks is a mix of in-classroom instruction and on-the-job training, with the second week dedicated to earning OSHA-10 certification. Valeo recognizes that our new normal must encompass an enduring focus on community hygiene, and many non-profits
have not budgeted for the need of regular sanitation of commonly touched services. To be of service to our community, and to offer a diverse and rich OJT experience for custodial training participants, Valeo plans to offer community partners custodial services,
at no charge, to agencies that can demonstrate a need.
We will deploy a crew of 2-4 training participants, with a supervisor overseeing their work, to agencies in need. Supervisors of the program have extensive experience in custodial work.
We have been offering custodial training for the last month, and launch our first official cohort on Monday. The first three weeks of training are dedicated to learning, with participants being able to access an additional 10 hours of OJT in their fourth
week. This is where our services will be offered to you, our community. So, as of 6/8 we will be offering 10-20 hours of cleaning services.
I'm reaching out to you to garner community interest and assess the need. I'm hoping there will be enough agencies interested in services to allow a robust training experience. Please email me directly if your agency would be interested.
Hope you all are staying safe and preparing to transition into our new realm of normal.
Thanks!
