Also GoFundMe (for money) and the local Buy Nothing group (for items) on Facebook. I think the latter is underutilized. Our clients and even providers themselves can join the Buy Nothing group for their neighborhood area (mine is Wapato/Alling/Mann, for an example of their size) and post an "Ask" for needed items. The idea is that often our neighbors have the very thing we need sitting around their house unused, and reusing or repurposing is better than buying something new. I've seen requests for food, pet food, household supplies like toilet paper and paper towels, clothing, shoes, kids' toys, school supplies, furniture, etc. Not everyone gets their request granted, but you'd be amazed at the things that people do receive--right away, even in poorer areas like mine. This weekend, I saw a request for various household goods and food for a family member whose home burned. A couple weeks ago, I saw a request for black pants and certain shoes to start a new job, which reminded me of many requests from this group. Sometimes the items are even new, but particularly if your client is okay with used goods, I recommend this form of crowdsourcing.
FEMA may also be an option down the road, but not immediately.
