Good Afternoon Colleagues,
We are sending out this virtual introduction to our key contacts and I realized we had not shared it with our most important partners - you. Please do feel free to share it with your own networks. And if there is someone
who should receive a separate email, just send me the information.
Thanks,
Maureen
The Tacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness is very pleased to introduce Kevin Glackin-Coley as our Director of Special Projects. We advertised for a "Super Hero" to dramatically increase the number of safe
places for people to sleep in Pierce County and Kevin was one of the nearly 170 people who responded.
Kevin is in place and eager to take on this daunting task. His focus is Winter Shelter - coordinating all available resources on behalf of the Coalition to replace the 400 or so winter beds we
lost because of COVID social distancing and safety requirements. He will help us find ways to bring unsheltered people into safe places through the winter. These could be hotel/motel rooms, safe parking sites, sanctioned tent cities, small congregate shelters
in underutilized public and private buildings.
Kevin knows our community well and most recently served the Director of the St. Leo Food Connection.
We are asking a great deal of Kevin and we are asking you to help him and us bring as many people experiencing homelessness home for the winter as we possibly can.
Pierce County Connected: COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, a partnership of United Way of Pierce County and the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation funded Kevin's position through April, 2021. Associated Ministries
is serving as our fiscal agent. We are grateful to these community partners.
Until everyone comes home, for the Tacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness,
Maureen Howard
