Wanted to reply to the group to ease fears, confusion, and questions
No one is denied for duplicate applications. It does hinder the process as I hold both applications through a deduplication process before sending them out. However, that is not the reason for a refusal. We have households applying 5 and 6 times. Things are stressful out there and we understand that.
The reasons for a denial of services:
We do often have trouble getting landlords to be willing to work with the program and that in case we can’t pay the rent. We also have trouble getting clients to answer their phone and send in the required documentation (everything can be self-certified if necessary)
I have spoke with Bryan (Thanks for calling Bryan) and am happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

Subject: Homeless Coalition - Rental Assistance Mistakes
I’m working with a single mom who’s needing $4000 in rental assistance. She’s applied for the PC rental assistance before but accidentally did it twice and was denied because they thought she was “trying to double dip.” Any thoughts on how she can apply again or receive support?
Thanks!
