Coalition's Expanded role - feedback needed - Gerrit Nyland (15 Feb 2021 08:07 UTC) |
Inclement Weather today - Monday, February 15th, 2021 through February 16th, 2021 - extra capacity available at area shelters - Gerrit Nyland (15 Feb 2021 19:01 UTC) |
Thanks for a good discussion on Friday about the expanded role the Coalition is considering. Attached are two documents – one is a three-page letter and provides an overview of the expansion of the Coalition role. This document was provided to meeting participants on Friday, although it has been edited based on feedback. The second attachment is a one-page letter to Tacoma City Council briefly describing the expanded role the Coalition wants to take and what we are asking of the Council. A nearly identical letter will go to the County Council.
Both documents are drafts. Please provide me any feedback – in an email, as edits to the document, via phone – whatever works well for you. We will also discuss this at our Wednesday Steering Committee meeting. As always, everyone is invited (register for the meeting at https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAqceGoqTktE9HkwflZ1ry78ClQ_Ok3pcuU ). Finally, we’ll discuss it and vote on it at the Friday Provider Meeting this Friday (register at https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0tceurpj4tHNz0i4AwThUUlUelIfN6WGXQ ).
These documents are more about what will we will do (lead a community effort to draft a plan to end homelessness, take ownership of seeing that plan implemented, end street homelessness by 11/1/2021), and less about how we will do it (we aren’t jumping into the structure of the organization just yet – that will come soon enough).
Thanks for everyone’s help in launching this new initiative.
Thanks,
-Gerrit
