Colleagues,
Please share this with clients, staff, friends and family - anyone who has a criminal history and has been denied housing.

Thanks,
Maureen

Subject: Have you been denied housing due to a prior criminal history? Take this survey!
To: Maureen Howard <maureenhowardconsulting@gmail.com>

Dear Maureen,

The Housing Alliance is part of a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to ending housing discrimination based on one's prior involvement with the criminal legal system. Decades old convictions can and are used against renters, forcing community members into unsafe and unstable living situations, or homelessness. As we know, these screening practices disproportionately affect communities of color, particularly Black and Indigenous communities, who are impacted at the intersection of racist criminal justice policy and housing policy.

The Housing Justice Coalition is fighting to undo the harmful practice of excluding individuals with conviction histories from housing opportunities. If you have been denied housing AND have a conviction history, please take a few moments to complete our short survey. If you know someone who has been directly impacted, please share this with them. The survey will be open until Friday, May 21st, so please complete it soon!

Complete the survey!
