Colleagues,We are completely out of water and out of sources to resupply the Stability Site. Pierce County Human Services is working on trying to find water but in the meantime, we are asking you and the communities you represent to help us.We are supplying water to people in every known encampment across Pierce County, in vehicles, and some respite sites. The Stability Site will accept donations of bottled water from individuals and organizations. They are staffed 24/7.Address: 1423 Puyallup Ave. If you have never been there, suggest you look at a map. Portland Ave and Puyallup Ave come together - it's that weird loop - but the address is Puyallup Ave.The Stability Site is open 24/7. Go to the gate and there should be someone there. Please sign the visitor's log so we can properly thank those who donate.Tel: Use Gerrit Nyland's phone number for donation questions: 253-304-5105We will update you with any new information.Thank you for your help,MaureenMaureen HowardSenior Policy AnalystTacoma Pierce County Coalition to End HomelessnessTel. 253-756-8146 LL253-255-2200 cellLiving in Tacoma or Pierce County and Behind on rent?

The City of Tacoma reached out again to TPU and the bottling plant folks came in to provide us with ten pallets - that's 12,000 bottles - of water. They will deliver to the Stability Site either later tonight or tomorrow - Sunday. That water plus the donations of water we know are coming from individuals and churches and organizations will get us through Sunday and hopefully into Monday.Outreach workers and volunteers - please check with the Stability Site or with Gerrit BEFORE you go to be sure the water has been delivered. We'll also put a notice out to the website. Please encourage people to go to cooling centers during the day.Be Safe and thanks everyone,MaureenMaureen HowardSenior Policy AnalystTacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness253-255-2200 cellLiving in Tacoma or Pierce County and Behind on rent?

More water is now available at the Stability Site – around 8 or 10 pallets – ready to be picked up and delivered to encampments.
A few more cooling site options came on-line today – take a look at http://cooling.pchomeless.org/ for times and locations. We are looking at temperature in triple digits by afternoon – so if there are ways we can remove barriers to accessing the cooling stations, let’s try and make that happen.

Doesn't look like we have anyone for 7th and Fawcett, 7th and Tacoma and the Christmas tree cul de sac. I'm going to head out to get some water and deliver up there - I don't have a bus route flyer, but I do have a heat stroke flyer that the cooling centers and basic bus info on it that I'll hand out.On Fri, Jun 25, 2021, 2:55 PM Maureen Howard <mhoward@pchomeless.org> wrote:OK folks - Here's what I know of who is doing what.Remember - any signs of heat stroke, call 911If a camper should leave for a medical emergency, remind them we can help replace their "stuff" but we cannot replace their life.Watch to be sure pets have water. If you see unused water, please don't leave any moreMore than one team can visit the same site but feel free to talk with each other - if you don't have contact information, email me.
