Get your clients driving again!  By now the DOL should have un-suspended all driver licenses that had been suspended for failing to pay tickets.  (This does NOT include licenses that were suspended because of DWLS or DUI convictions, other criminal traffic offenses, or being a habitual offender.)  People whose license has expired while suspended will need to renew it and/or take a new driver’s test.  Those who have lost their license will need to pay for a replacement (although I know some agencies are able to work with DOL to waive that or have vouchers).  Otherwise, there should not be a fee to reinstate the license.  People whose license was suspended because they couldn’t pay tickets or missed a court date should go to this website to check the current status of their DL (https://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/checkstatus.html).  People whose license status is “valid” and who have an unexpired license in their possession can begin driving again without taking any further action!

Attached is our new publication about this, which you can hand out to clients if you want.
