A great program for helping community leaders develop and hone their skills. Consider applying, or encouraging colleagues to apply. Deadline is this Friday – so get busy.

Hello Pierce County and beyond partners,
I am following up once more to ask for your support spreading the word about the Jane’s Fellowship Program.
Please encourage your Pierce County community to apply. The Class 9 application deadline is
JULY 2, 2021.
The Russell Family Foundation is now seeking applicants for the ninth class of “Jane’s Fellows.” Jane’s Fellowship Program is a 12-month learning experience for community leaders living in Pierce County. The
Fellowship focuses on deepening personal strengths and skills, and offers financial, logistical and educational support for participation. We hope you’ll help us identify candidates.
Information posted on the
TRFF website describes the program and the types of participants we hope to find. Many people working to make life better in Pierce County do not see themselves as leaders, and they often function outside institutional structures. Please help us reach
out to community members who are engaged at the block, neighborhood, or community level. Printed brochures are available; if you would like some, please contact us and we’ll arrange to get them to you.
§
Consider who you know with a drive to serve their community, who would benefit by connecting with peers, developing leadership skills, building confidence and expanding their experience of what’s possible.
§
Tell them about Jane’s Fellowship Program, and send them the brochure and application. (We’ll be happy to send materials for you, but candidates will be more likely to apply if you first introduce the idea.) Encourage their
interest by being specific about the leadership qualities you observe in them.
§
Check in before the deadline to see if they’ve applied and offer to write a letter of support. One past Fellow told us she’d hesitated to try, fearing she had no chance, until a friend gave her a letter of support
before she’d filled out the application. Your repeated encouragement helps with follow through.
Thanks in advance for your support. Jane’s Fellowship Program staff are ready to assist; please call us at 253.857.1664 or email
JFP.app@trff.org with any questions, comments, or to let us know how we can help.
With appreciation,
