Subject: What you need to know about the eviction moratorium and bridge proclamation
To: Maureen Howard <maureenhowardconsulting@gmail.com>

Dear Maureen,

Last week Governor Inslee released a housing stability bridge proclamation, intended to bridge the gap between the now expired eviction moratorium and new protections and programs created by the state legislature. This is not an extension of the moratorium. Some evictions can resume and it is important for tenants to apply for rental assistance and seek legal support, especially if they receive an eviction notice. Please help share this information in your community.

See below for a graphic (download it here and share widely) from the Housing Justice Project designed to help tenants know their rights. Other helpful resources include:

Attorney General’s question and complaint form about the statewide eviction proclamation is here or call (833) 660-4877.

Tenants Union of Washington State Tenants Rights Hotline: 206-723-0500.

Find a local rental assistance program here.

Visit our blog for more details on the proclamation and the new protections created by the legislature.

Join us on July 16 from noon to 1:30, for a statewide call on the bridge proclamation, rental assistance, and more. Register here.

Thank you for your advocacy! You've helped keep thousands of people safe, healthy, and housed through an unprecedented time. Now let's make sure tenants know about the resources available to help. Please share this information widely in your community and keep an eye out for additional resources in the coming weeks.
