Good morning everyone,
I wanted to share Linda Stewart's full message from late yesterday afternoon with you - please note her continued commitment that the City will reimburse for purchases of water for people in encampments The Coalition working with Associated Ministries will
continue to serve as the intermediary for those who cannot submit a formal reimbursement request directly to the City. If you need the reimbursement form, please let me know. You will need your receipts.
Those of you with contracts with Pierce County Human Services should talk with your contract manager about any reimbursement.
Thanks to the City for managing the water availability and distribution, to Pierce County for coordinating outreach teams, to CCS for use of the Stability Site, to everyone who went out to take water to people in encampments, and to those of you who set up
cooling centers.
From Linda Stewart:
Bottled water was available at the stability site Thursday, 7/29, through today, for distribution to encampments by outreach workers and volunteers. Four groups retrieved water for distribution on Friday, 7/30.
No one retrieved any bottled water from the stability site over the weekend. Water distribution at the stability site is being deactivated at 5pm today, and will be reactivated when bottled water is required in response to another weather emergency.
If outreach workers would like to continue distributing water to encampments, the City will reimburse for those costs via formal reimbursement request.
Please do not visit the stability site to retrieve water stored there for weather emergency use.
