    Colleagues,
This is all the information I have on the Aug. 11 Pierce County Department of Emergency Management After Action Review.  Monique Brown, Janet Runbeck and I will represent the Coalition.  I am hoping there will be a Zoom option.  Whether or not there is, you need to register.
    Thanks for your work everyone,
    Maureen

    Hello Everyone,

Pierce County Department of Emergency Management (DEM) will be hosting the regional after-action review of the June extreme heat incident.

The purpose of this review is to identify areas of success and challenges to improve our response efforts.

Pierce County DEM prefers for this to be an in person event.  A virtual option will be determined based on registration preference.

Please forward this invite to others.

Friends- I received this email today and wanted to get it out to you:

The application for Tacoma’s guaranteed income demonstration, Growing Resilience In Tacoma (GRIT) is OPEN!

The application is only open for a week, Monday, August 9 at 10am through Monday, August 16 at 11:59pm. Please review the FAQs and fill out the application.

    What is GRIT?

GRIT is a first-of-its-kind guaranteed income demonstration in Tacoma. Participants will receive $500 a month for 12 months as a supplement to their income and public benefits. They will take part in surveys to help determine the impact these funds make over time. A guaranteed income is a monthly, cash payment given directly to individuals. It is unconditional, with no strings attached. It’s meant to supplement, rather than replace, income and benefits. Participants will be randomly selected from a pool of qualified individuals by researchers from the Center for Guaranteed Income Research.

GRIT is a collaborative effort between the City of Tacoma, United Way of Pierce County and and Mayor’s Guaranteed Income (MGI) Network. Planning partners also include: Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, Sound Outreach, Tacoma Urban League and Tacoma Housing Authority.
