In this role the successful candidate must be able to build consensus and relationships as we work with community partners and stakeholders in developing programs, strategies and plans to address homeless issues in our community. To be successful the candidate must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing, have strong leadership, facilitation, and presentation skills. In this role you will be one of the key players in our efforts to end homelessness in Pierce County. You must have a passion for this issue and be willing to work hard to help us tackle this issue. In this role you will work closely with various community partners and workgroup who all have ideas on how to address this issue. In your role you will need strong analytical skills, and leadership skills as you lead your internal staff through data collection, and data analysis efforts. You will bring your budget development and monitoring experience as you assist with monitoring and making budget recommendations related to this program. The successful candidate will have the ability to work within a team, have strong communication skills both written and verbally, and be a problem solver as you work through issues related to this new program.

Core Daily Responsibilities:

Provides overall leadership over assigned projects.
Develops strong public relations and industry relations.
Ensures assigned projects meet appropriate deadlines.
Develops and administers strategic plans, consultant service contracts and other implementation programs.
Prepares and presents reports and graphics to the general public, advisory committees, and other interested groups.
Represents Pierce County position in negotiations, and committee or work group activities as assigned.
Maintain effective communication with county departments and staff to facilitate and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Recommend objectives, goals and strategies. Determine appropriate implementation and monitor progress.
Supervise the coordination of citizen groups, service agencies and other organizations involved in the planning process.
Monitor program budgets, for local, state and federally funded programs.
Use and recommend appropriate data systems and software.
Interpret detailed federal, state, or local regulations to ensure compliance, which includes developing reporting systems to monitor programs, contracts, and budgets. Compile and analyze data to determine needs, make recommendations and evaluate programs.
Directly supervisor Homeless Programs staff members.
Prepare and analyze data reporting requirements, dashboards and systems.
Maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance during regularly scheduled work hours at assigned worksite.
Meet travel requirements of the position.
Perform the physical requirements of the position, work within the established working conditions of the position.
Work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
