Below is some information on a new Pierce County Commission. I’ve been involved with a variety of these commissions with both the City of Tacoma and Pierce County for a long time and I’ve seen them make real change to improve how government serves the community. Application information is below, and feel free to pass this along to others who might have an interest. -Gerrit

Joining a board or commission is a great way to get involved and give back to the community. Nine voting members are needed for the new Commission on Refugee and Immigrant Affairs, including one from each of the seven Pierce County Council Districts, and two at-large. This commission will advise Pierce County government on matters of importance to the refugee and immigrant communities, such as employment, economic development, public health, language access, and more. If you have qualifying experience and a passion for this work, please consider applying. Youth and young adults under age 25 are encouraged to apply.
