Hi. Looking for any help. I have a lady who is fleeing a domestic violence situation, has a plus 2 children, looking for a hotel voucher, does not want to stay in a shelter, any help would be appreciated.

Reply to listCoalition members,
The City of Tacoma has announced that it will post a series of sites along South J Street between South 7th and South 13th streets for removal beginning on March 22. The people living at the sites will find postings going up today. As Allyson Griffith from the City mentions in her message below, City staff believe there are approximately 12 people living in the sites that will be posted.

Good morning Rob,
I am following up on a voicemail I left you this morning regarding an encampment posting that will occur this morning. Environmental Services is preparing to begin an underground utility project along S. ‘J’ Street from S. 7th to S. 13th Street and has identified several encampments in this vicinity that need to be removed prior to construction work commencing. This project is to install new sewer and water mains in the vicinity.
We will post the location this morning and although our encampment removal policy allows a 72-hour posting, we will implement a two-week posting period to allow for increased connection to shelter. Removal of the encampment will begin on Tuesday, March 22nd.
This removal will address encampments on J Street and between J and MLK in the construction footprint. In recent weeks as we have visited, we have estimated 12 individuals across the locations and one individual has accepted services.
Please let me know if the Coalition has questions.
Regards,
Allyson

CORRECTION: TPCHD Update 3.3.22 by Rachel Hauser (08 Mar 2022 19:45 UTC)
Reply to listHello all, there is a correction to the guidance I sent last week regarding the lifting of the mask mandate on March 12. We are not yet sure of the requirement to wear masks in congregate facilities, such as shelters. We will let you know when WA Department of Health has clearer guidance.
I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
