Subject: INVITATION - 9/7 In-District Meeting @ Roy H. Murphy Community Center

Good morning Coalition Members,

On Wednesday, September 7th at 6 pm I am hosting my second in-district meeting at the recently completed Roy H. Murphy Community Center in Fircrest. Per the County Charter, the Council is required to hold at least one, evening, in-district meeting per year in each council district. This year, I have chosen to focus this meeting on highlighting the work being done across the county to build equity – specifically around community engagement, economic empowerment, housing affordability and access to green space. Additionally, I am excited for the opportunity to highlight the beautiful new community center in Fircrest that has already become an amazing gathering space for the community. If you have not had a chance to check it out yet, you’re missing out!

This meeting will take place in the main gymnasium with attendance being available in person or online through PCTV. The address for the community center is 555 Contra Costa Ave, Fircrest, WA 98466. I would love to see you there for this meeting. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me and/or my assistant, Evan Koepfler, should you have any questions.

The agenda and packet for the meeting will be eventually posted HERE. In the meantime, please take a look at an outline of the agenda below:

  • City of Fircrest Greeting
  • Equity Action Collaborative – Intro and Scope of Work
  • GRIT Tacoma – Universal Basic Income Pilot Program
  • Pierce Conservation District – Green Stormwater Mini-Grants
  • Tacoma Tree Foundation – Equitable Tree Canopy Improvements
  • Pierce County’s Housing Action Strategy – Overview/Introduction

As always, if there are ways we may collaborate, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your partnership.

My best,

Ryan
