Hello Homeless Coalition!

I met 2 minors sleeping in a park today. They’ve stated they’ve been homeless for over a year.  Boyfriend & girlfriend. Both parents are addicted and homeless. They stated they didn’t know where they were. They did go to school today.

Any youth resources PLEASE!!

I don’t have that sort of resources, but if she and her husband were legally married and US citizens, she should call Social Security right away to apply for survivors’ benefits (1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) to speak to a Social Security representative between 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday).  She can also get a one-time death payment of $255 to help cover burial/cremation expenses (or bring her space rent current).  Maybe the park would be more flexible if they knew money was coming soon.

Colleagues,

Please contact Ronny at his number below if you are aware of any resources like someone with the capacity to repair a vehicle or to help tow a vehicle and 5th wheel trailer out of the park today.

There is a 60 year old woman staying in Joemma state park in a 5th wheel. Her husband died about 2 weeks ago from cancer. He was Her only source of income. Her vehicle broke down today. She has been given 24 hours to leave Joemma Park. I have contacted Joemma State Park trying to advocate for them to give her an extension. They have not gotten back to me. She is looking at losing her camper, her vehicle, everything she owns all because her husband passed away. It does not seem fair to me. Please, if there is anything anyone can do here. Please let me know. Ronny TRM outreach, 253-921-3063
