Hey all!
I am reaching out because I am currently working with a client who needs help with past due rent.
This individual started experiencing severe mental health challenges at the beginning of this year and ended up in and out of the hospital for the last few months, causing loss of job and inability to pay rent. This individual is also 19 weeks pregnant.
I have reached out to every agency, non-profit, church, etc. that I can think of an have come up empty handed. Because this individual is so far behind on rent (4,800) they do not qualify for the Pierce County Rental assistance, which will only cover 3 months
of past due rent.
I am trying to get the total owed down to a more manageable amount in order to access the county rental assistance.
Another issue I have had is that I am not able to get CE done with her because she is not "currently homeless", though most rental assistance programs also go through CE.
I desperately do not want to see this individual end up on the streets. I know that someone somewhere has the ability to help, I just need to be connected with them.
Any guidance, suggestions, etc would be more than appreciated.
Best,
