This sounds like a challenging situation, and I am more than happy to scrap something from the agenda tomorrow to respond to this instead.

This is a developing community challenge, and may be a topic for the Coalition meeting tomorrow. Both the Rescue Mission Adams Family Shelter and CCS-Family Housing Network have experienced the “drop off” of refugee families from the Congo and Angola in the past week, families with few belongings, no English, and no transportation. It appears that 400 refugees from Angola and the Congo are being released from a detention center in Tukwila. I don’t know who is bringing them to our various agencies in Tacoma, without any sort of plan or explanation.

You don't often get email from lmcevilly@reachtacoma.org. Learn why this is important
Hey Pierce County Coalition,
Here at Tacoma Community House, we have a 40 year old couple from DR Congo walk into our lobby today. They speak limited English. They need a place to stay, we are having very little luck with our usual avenues, does anyone know of a place they can stay? They are here in Tacoma and do not have transport...
Thanks in advance,
Liam McEvilly
