Pierce County needs to submit a digital equity and broadband workforce development plan by June 14th.
I am teaming up with Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region, Shellie Willis from Workforce Central, Will Booth from Tribal Technology Training and others in Pierce County, who want to ensure all Pierce
County residents has equitable access to affordable and quality broadband, devices and technology training that will enrich their lives through online opportunities and resources e.g. economic mobility, telehealth, jobs, and other critical digital tools
/ skills.
Will you join us over the next week to ensure we collect your work in digital equity and broadband infrastructure worksheets are completed,
and Pierce County has Digital Equity and Broadband WFD Action Plans to ensure that Pierce County can receive federal funding dollars that are coming through the bipartisan legislation Infrastructure
Investment and Jobs Act that funds Digital Equity Act and BEAD (Broadband
Equity Accessibility Deployment)?
Opportunities to weigh in and share your city or organizations’ digital equity and broadband workforce development needs:

o Lunch will be provided for those that RSVP in advance
· June 9th 10am – 12pm Round Table at Workforce Central, 3640
S Cedar, Tacoma, Pine Room (virtual option available)
o Lunch will be provided for those that RSVP in advance
· Jun 7 – 13 – schedule time with me to be in person or virtual
o Food / drinks
· If you are not able to meet within this timeframe, you can still be
included by sending links or documents on your organization’s digital equity and/or broadband action plans
