Greetings all,
I am writing on behalf of a homeless Veteran who found out he has cancer last month prior to entering our program here in Orting. He settled in quickly and has already begun chemotherapy – hats off to good doctors!
This Veteran has two pitbulls, his “hearts”, who were staying with his brother in an RV so the Veteran could come to our program and begin his treatment. Our program is only able to accept service animals so this arrangement seemed perfect.
Unfortunately, the Veteran’s brother just received his own serious medical diagnosis yesterday and can no longer care for or share space with the two dogs. The Veteran had to move his dogs into a truck outside the RV last night.
☹ This Veteran must remain in a stable place to complete his treatment but is understandably greatly concerned for his dogs. The staff here are concerned about his health as he will be traveling
back and forth constantly to try to care for his dogs while undergoing this lifesaving treatment.
If anyone knows of a person or place that would be willing to shelter two pit bulls for this Veteran, please reach out to me. I know this is a long shot but you never know unless you ask!
The Veteran says they are good dogs who have never bitten anyone. One is 40lbs the other is 60lbs. They would be best for a house with adults only.
If you have any ideas at all don’t hesitate to send them to me!
😊
Very much appreciated,
