Good afternoon team,
One of the staff I supervise has a male member on her caseload who’s at risk of homelessness. He had open heart surgery and has used all his FMLA to date. This month he was granted 450.00 from DSHS, but he has no other financial resources.
He has SS paperwork but needs assistance completing this paperwork. Gina will be going to request SS paperwork assistance through DSHS for him soon.
She submitted a rental assistance request to St. Francis House in Puyallup since he’s in the zip code of Spanaway/98387 but they can’t help him until 21 days from now because he’s not in their system. His rent is 1126.00 a month, he is
waiting on a utility assistance appointment next week to get help with utilities. He has no other resources currently. Gina believes he should qualify for some type of short-term disability or unemployment through the unemployment department, and she will
also look into this avenue.
Beyond rental assistance, this client needs light housekeeping due to health problems. Gina did complete a Home and Community Services request for him and will see if volunteer chore program through CCSW can be of assistance.
Any additional resources as it relates to rental assistance and other needs identified is much appreciated.
Gina can be emailed back at
gina.hicks@molinahealthcare.com and if you could please title the subject line “Rental Assistance Follow Up” that would be greatly appreciated. You can also apply directly to me and I can forward to her if that is easier.
Thank you!
