Hello 🙂 I work at Prosperity Wellness Center in Parkland. I am the Outreach Peer Support Specialist.
My first quarter goal was to establish a resource library for our clients that can be sustainably maintained by resources sourced through our community. This is very important to our patients' outcome because Parkland is so barren.
Barriers:
1. Appropriate shelving. Ideally cube shelving would be fantastic or perhaps shelves with a cupboard for easy restocking. Dimensions 28" deep and 8' long.
This library is projected to include:
A little library
A PWS binder series with programs/events aligned with care
Narcan (pending distribution site)
Condoms and female hygiene products
Hand sanitizer, masks
Weather-relevant items, ex. Hot Hands, lip balm, SPF
Business cards/rack cards/one-pages for community orgs.
Hygiene kits
Resource guides, other SAMHSA, ADAI, SS 211 materials
Reference guides for local chapter meetings/support groups
Also some other PWS-specific documents and such.
I would love to rally with some community sites to make this happen for our clients. It's a necessary care gap to fill.
THANK YOU!
