Subject: National Weather Service -Thunderstorm PCALERT

Pierce County Emergency Management sent the following PCALERT message via email to our Severe Weather notification registrants due to the potential for severe thunderstorms tomorrow:
The National Weather Service is anticipating that severe thunderstorms will arrive in Pierce County on Wednesday 26 March between 3pm and 5pm and possibly linger until 8pm. There is potential for hail larger than 1 inch in diameter, wind gusts exceeding 58 MPH, lightning, and the unlikely chance of tornadoes. Be prepared to seek cover in a sturdy building, away from windows once inside. If a building isn’t nearby, get inside a vehicle. Commuters should plan to travel before or after the storm has passed.
