Hello! I wanted to share this message from the Tacoma Tenants Organizing Committee. Below is a great way to advocate for policies that promote housing security and help prevent homelessness. You can weigh in as an individual or on behalf of your organization (either by coming to Council or sending a letter).

Thanks!

The Tacoma Tenants Organizing Committee and tenants and supporters across Tacoma have spent the last 6 months fighting for tenant rights and protections, and a new rental housing code is now being formally considered by City Council. Please join us:

Tuesday November 13th at 5 pm
City Council Chambers
Tacoma Municipal Building
747 Market St

This is a not a done deal, so let's fill the Council chambers to win these protections!

Individuals who want to speak can sign up when they arrive, and public comment happens near the beginning of the meeting. Let's tell our stories about how much these protections are needed, and how we need more, including Just Cause!

Cannot make the meeting Tuesday? You can submit your comments to the Mayor and Council here: https://www.cityoftacoma.org/government/city_council

We encourage you to share your perspective and highlight the protections you most want to see. A sample letter is here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1

If you'd like to see the Rental Housing Code ordinance it is available here. Ordinance #28559.

Hope to see you all on Tuesday!
