Since this person has some income, they have a leg up.

I generally advise finding a room-share off of Craigslist.  They can be found for as much as $500-$600 a month.  They’ll have to filter for pet permissions.

There is also the “Adult Home Share” program thru Associated Ministries, where boarding is exchanged for owner help, such as chores.

If they need any help with move in costs, their local St Vincent de Paul chapter (there’s a zip code locater online) can often help with that.
