Hi Bob,Are you interested in working with others in your community to expand housing options that are affordable and that can help to build wealth in neighborhoods—rather than having money extracted from your community by distant investors?I have good news! A multi-faceted strategy enables many different elements of a housing ecosystem (for ADUs or other options) to come together in ways that lead to improved collective impact and success. With a wise approach, communities can use ADUs as a key driver of stability, safety and racial equity.
Description
This webinar will also introduce HUD's forthcoming Local Housing Policy Grants. The big, omnibus federal spending bill that was passed earlier this year included $85 million for HUD to give to local governments (ideally working with a multi-stakeholder housing coalition) to help them reduce the policy barriers (like zoning, parking and setback requirements) that hinder the "missing middle" housing that includes duplexes and ADUs.Attendees will see that grant applicants having a well-crafted strategic plan co-created by coalition members and other stakeholders committed to addressing the housing crisis are far more likely to receive a grant award.
This webinar is ideal for helping the coalition partners & other stakeholders in your region to understand how developing a multi-faceted strategy can be accomplished. To add perspective and context, please consider watching this 30-minute watch-on-demand webinar that we did in May. I think you’ll be inspired to share this with other people in your region who would be part of co-creating and implementing a well-crafted housing policy.I look forward to seeing you on the webinar! 🙂
Sincerely,
