We, the members of St John’s Episcopal Church - Gig Harbor, consider you prominent mission partners, dedicated to serving others within our neighborhoods and communities.  We would like to extend an invitation for you to join us for a potluck meal to be hosted at St John’s Church on March 11th, from 6pm to 8pm.

The intention is to gather, share, and enjoy a meal while engaging in conversation with our “We Care and We Will” Team and other mission partners. Our desire is to listen, discern, and identity specific areas of need that you, our partners, that St John’s can respond to and /or provide support.  Our commitment is to remain grounded in deep values of unity and compassion, however, we want to know what that means for the people you serve, especially at a time of chaos and division.  St. John’s hopes to identify and discern a specific project we can embrace that will help galvanize our community in the season to come that can tangibly benefit those on the margins, the vulnerable and those in need.
Some questions to be considered, but not limited to, include:
  • In our current political environment, what are each of you seeing/hearing/ feeling?
  • What are ways we can bridge the divides while standing firm in our own values?
  • Are there groups of people in our community who feel unseen or unsupported?
  • What resources or opportunities are missing?
  • Other than financial support, what is most helpful to meet the needs of each population?
Please feel free to forward this invitation to others you feel have something important to share, whether within your organization or outside.  St John’s will be providing the main course (a meat and a vegetarian lasagna dish), as well as water, iced tea, and coffee.  We invite attendees to consider bringing side dishes (salads, bread, vegetables, etc.) or a dessert, to share!
We only ask that everyone please RSVP as soon as possible, for a headcount.
You may respond to Cindy Bonilla-Centeno atthorisanot@msn.com or call (206) 919-0472 with any questions you may have.
Thank you in advance,
