Good morning community leaders!

I had a great time with you last week at the Partnership Summit!  We had almost 75 leaders and 50 organizations represented.  I have finished at the Puyallup Food Bank and really appreciated the team and my time there!  I look forward to supporting the food bank in putting on the Partnership Summit next year, but as a community partner now.

One thing that I continually heard at the Partnership Summit is that community leaders need to get together more often.  Harvey emphasized this by saying that if we want to go fast, go alone, but if we want to go far, go together.  I know there are so many challenges people and our communities face.  I believe that all the solutions to the problems we are face are in our community, but community rises and falls on leadership.  We need leaders coming together to spark a passion and unleash the power of everyone in our community to overcome the challenges we face.

I am excited to share with you that the nonprofit I lead, Thrive Center, will take a step toward that by hosting regular gatherings of leaders to continue the collaboration started at the Partnership Summit.  We will do three things at our first gathering in April:

  1. CONNECT: We will eat (lunch will be served) and get to know each other.
  2. CAST VISION: I was able to share why we are seeking the holistic wellbeing of our cities at the Summit. I would now like to share how we can seek that.  I have been working with some state legislators and other leaders on this and am excited to share a model to support community members in need through partnerships, pathways, and programs. In other months, we will have other leaders share.
  3. COLLABORATE: We will continue to partner to address the issues we started talking about at the Summit.

The first gathering is Tuesday, April 18th, from 12:00-1:30 PM at Puyallup Nazarene Church on the second floor.  You can register for the event here: Partnering for our People Tickets, Tue, Apr 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM | Eventbrite. If you are open, I would love to meet with you about my work at Thrive Center either virtually or in person.

Thank you and I look forward to hopefully seeing you there!
